Magpie tale 83: Bird

I am a gray bird with pink wings
that shine in the moonlight
always ready to spread and
fly over trees and lakes.

So why do I stay on the shore
among the coldblooded
and listen to the silvery sounds?

Because deep down I know
that every note that floats
from that mysterious flute
is not meant for the snakes
in the grass and the woods.

Every note that escapes
in the darkest night
shines especially for

And the snakes?
Ah, the snakes are the perfect disguise
for a secret love between a man in black
and a gray bird with pink wings.
